Hawaiian Rain x Permanent Marker

hybrid

Three delicious phenos, one genetic lineage.

Welcome to Ritual’s first strain release with three delicious phenotypes to choose from. Our Spring 2024 release of Hawaiian Rain x Permanent Marker (HRxPM) comes in three phenotypes because our cultivation team was thrilled at the notable differences between them.

Each pheno offers distinct effects, terpenes, aromas, and flavors, and visual appeal. HRxPM #18, #20, and #23 exemplify superb yet diverse Ritual flower experiences.

Pheno #18

“A little funkier nose compared to the other phenos. Flavor is similar. Plant and nug structure is not as showy, but ugly flower is usually the best. Nice pheno for overall experience. Effect was more sedating, but still had that tingling, euphoric effect.”

- J.D. Lauritzen, the leafy lawyer

“My personal favorite. Loose purple bud with orange hairs. This one has a funky acetone spin on the Permanent Marker nose and taste. More of a heavy sedative "indica" effect than the others.”

- Jamison garrido, ritual cultivator

Pheno #20

“Menthol marker terp with some sweetness. The flavor was really nice. Mouth coating marker terp. Great effect. Even more tingly and euphoric than the other phenos. One bag was enough with this one.”

- J.D. Lauritzen, the leafy lawyer

“Great nose, super refined on the terps. Strong fruity tropical smell as well as some gassy chem. I can definitely get more of that Permanent Marker terp on this pheno. It's pretty loud too. Flavor is just as good as smell and transfers over nicely. It's some smooth flavorful vapor that is gassy, cakey, and fruity. Effect is good. Great strain for any time of day. It is a pretty strong euphoric high. Nugs are colorful, purple and covered in trichomes.”

Pheno #23

“Nose is so intriguing. Starts as sour fruit, but gives you menthol and that distinct marker smell on the deeper inhale. The flavor is a nice hybrid between the parents. Menthol/marker terp, but with a nice punch of berry from the Hawaiian Rain.

The structure and bag appeal are both really strong. Dark purple nugs. Bright orange pistils stand out against the dark buds. A hint of green stands out nicely against all the color. The trichome coverage isn’t out of control, but it does still shimmer. The effect is tingly and euphoric, but also a little introspective and stoney. This is a keeper for me.

- J.D. Lauritzen, the leafy lawyer

“The prettiest nugs and best bag appeal in the group. This one was the closest to the permanent marker in smell and taste. Starts off a little fruity but gives way to full marker flavor in the vapor.”

Notes from the Hunt

[Ryan] Chimera no. 6 instantly stood out as a truly special plant right at the beginning of our pheno hunt. She has a strong structure, tolerant, and great spacing of flower sites and flower size.

She is stunning and absolutely covered in trichomes. Bright orange pistils in a light green flower. Her flower is almost white because of heavy trichome coverage. The aroma from Chimera no. 6 has a very sweet ripe fruit aroma with a mix of funky musky smell in there as well. Overripe pineapple, reminds me of Hawaiian Punch.

[Sully] Chimera was a standout from the beginning. Uniform flowers, so frosty you can’t just walk by without admiring her. Unique appearance, but also unique terpenes. Cracking open a jar of Chimera, you are hit with a strong aroma made up of a mix of hazelnut, butterscotch, Mountain Dew/Monster with notes of black licorice.

Effects set in quickly and pack a punch. You can feel the vapors expand in your lungs and the flavor comes through all the way to the end.

[Jamison] Chimera no. 6 has great trichome density which for us is a great indicator of oil production and bag appeal. Her jagged leaf serrations and the way she starts to frost up super early in flower set her apart from some of the other phenos.

While she is growing she smells like a can of Red Bull. Once harvested that changes to more of a sweet butterscotch or hazelnut smell and a nutty/chocolate taste. The effect is a relaxed sedative body stone and a focused head.
